Bethany enjoys a varied career of performing and teaching throughout the North West, and opened Aura Music Academy in September 2016. With years of teaching experience, Bethany is dedicated to bringing high quality music education to both adult learners and children, through fun and informative lessons.
Bethany began playing the piano when she was five years old and soon discovered a desire to become a professional pianist. At the age of fifteen she was granted a place at the renowned St. Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh. During her two years at the school Bethany progressed rapidly and went on to win both the St. Mary’s Concerto Competition and the school’s highest award, the coveted Directors’ Recital Prize. At the age of 18, she performed her first concerto with St Mary’s Music School Chamber Orchestra under the baton of acclaimed conductor Garry Walker.
After being awarded a scholarship entry, Bethany studied for her undergraduate degree at The Royal Northern College of Music, under the guidance of Helen Krizos. During her time at the RNCM, Bethany enjoyed taking part in a variety of performances from solo piano through to an 8 hand piano concert!
An enthusiast of music pedagogy, Bethany has dedicated many years training and working in music education. As someone with a long term commitment to bringing classical music to the younger generations, Bethany is thrilled to have opened Aura Music Academy and looks forward to many years of exciting music making!
