Exams

At Aura Music Academy we offer our students the opportunity to work towards completing music exams. This is not compulsory, however, but it’s something you can discuss with your tutor if you are interested in working towards exam grades as a goal.

We offer the ability to take your exams with a variety of exam boards and are registered as an exam centre for ABRSM. Exams are typically three times a year, March/April, July/August and November/December. We also provide mock exams so our students can gauge their progress and know what to expect.

Our next exam dates for Term Two 2025/2026 are:

ABRSM – 18th, 19th and 20th March – Altrincham Studios

Trinity Classical – Sunday 29th March – Cheadle Hulme Grammar School

RSL – TBC (waiting on RSL to confirm dates) – FutureSkills, Media City

Trinity Pop & Rock – Sunday 19th April- Cheadle Hulme Grammar School

Mock exams: Saturday 28th February and Sunday 1st March

Rockschool

Rockschool music grades are tailor-made for those wanting to focus on contemporary music. Our guitar and drum tutors are very experienced in teaching the Rockschool syllabus. Exams are taken at The Cheadle Hulme school in Spring, Summer and Winter.

Trinity

A popular alternative to ABRSM, Trinity exams take place in Sale Methodist Church 3 times a year.

ABRSM

We are an approved ABRSM exam visit centre, which means that we hold ABRSM exams at our studios 3 times a year. We also provide theory lessons to prepare students for ABRSM theory exams.
