Where do the lessons take place?

Our face to face lessons take place at our state-of-the-art, purpose built studios in the centre of Altrincham, 4 Lloyd Street, Altrincham, WA14 2DE. We are excellently located right in the centre of Altrincham and are easily accessible by tram, bus, bike or car. We are within easy walking distance from many of the local schools including both Altrincham Boys and Girls Grammar Schools allowing many of our students to have their lessons after school.

All online lessons take place via Zoom.
Can I accompany my child to their lesson?

Due to Government restrictions, parents are not allowed to enter our studios unless it is ‘essential’ to do so. We are therefore asking that all parents of students aged 7 years and over do not accompany their child to their lesson.

Your tutor will collect your child from the front door of our studios and will drop them off at the back door once the lesson is complete. We also have CCTV throughout our studios so that we can always ensure that students are safe and are collected by their parent/carer at the end of each lesson.

However, we will look at each individual student’s situation and will be happy to discuss this with you further if you feel that it is essential to accompany your child to their lesson.

Do you offer tuition 1:1 or in groups?

We offer small group and 1:1 lessons on a wide range of instruments which are suitable for all ages and abilities. Our 1:1 lessons are specially tailored to you by our highly trained tutor team and are a great option if you want in-depth, individual tuition. Our group lessons are a fun and approachable introduction to music and offer a more affordable route into music tuition. Our group lessons are tailored for various age groups to ensure that all students receive tuition suitable for their age and ability. The lessons are designed for beginners and have a maximum of 6 students per class a group to ensure a truly focused learning environment. To read more about our lessons click here
I'm an adult who is complete beginner - is this for me?

Did you know that while 20% of children learn an instrument, 70% of adults wish they had? Our lessons are suitable for all ages and abilities, whether you’re an experienced player or a complete beginner. Our team of expert and experienced tutors can tailor the lessons to whatever your goals and needs may be.

Will I have the same teacher every week?

What do I do if I am sick on my lesson day?

If you are sick or unable to attend your lesson, please let us know on 0161 941 1554 as soon as possible. Due to the costs of paying our tutors and booking specific lesson slots, we are unable to offer a refund or credit note on missed lessons due to illness/other commitments.

How do I pay you?

All students are required to set-up a Direct Debit account with GoCardless before beginning their lessons at Aura Music Academy. Your 1st month’s payment will be taken upfront via a manual invoice (and can be paid in card/cash in-store) and then your following payments will be taken via the Direct Debit. By signing up to the direct debit you are agreeing to our Terms and Conditions which you can find here. Just want ad-hoc lessons? We can then take payment in card/cash on your lesson day. (please be aware that lessons are chargeable if not cancelled more than 48 hours in advance).
Do I have to do exams?
