Terms & Conditions
Whilst we like to keep things fun at Aura, we do need to sometimes deal with boring stuff like your tutor’s Terms and Conditions! We want to make Aura a fair and happy environment for students and tutors which is why all students (or parents if student is under 18 yrs) who sign up for lessons must agree to your tutor’s Terms and Conditions before starting lessons.
Enrolment and Fees
Aura Music Academy acts as an introducing and administrative agent only. Lesson services are provided directly by your tutor, and your contract for tuition is between you and the tutor. Aura collects lesson fees on behalf of the tutor and administers payments, scheduling, and related services as the tutor’s agent.
Late Payments
Payments not received within 7 days of the due date may incur a £15 administrative fee, reflecting the reasonable costs of payment processing and administration. Aura Music Academy reserves the right to suspend lessons until outstanding balances are cleared.
Absences
Due to the costs of paying your tutors and booking specific lesson slots, your tutor is unable to offer a refund or credit note on missed lessons. However, if at least 48 hours’ notice is given, your tutor may arrange a ‘catch-up’ lesson for students who miss a lesson, although this is not guaranteed (due to tutor availability).
– Lessons can only be rescheduled with your assigned tutor and are subject to their availability.
– All cancellations must be submitted via the Student Portal (not by email or phone).
– Credits are valid for 8 weeks from cancellation but expire at the end of the current term (whichever comes first).
– Rescheduling is the responsibility of the student/parent. Please check the portal regularly for available times.
– Rescheduling is not guaranteed and depends on tutor availability.
– All lessons are non-refundable.
Should you be unwell, this Absence policy remains however your tutor may be able to move your lessons online should you wish to do so. These online lessons must take place during your regular lesson slot.
Tutor Absences Should your tutor be unable to teach, they will ensure another of our tutors will cover the lesson. If they are unable to arrange this, you will be issued a lesson credit on your account which can be used at any point during the academic year.
Leaving Notice Period
Please note that your tutor requires at least 4 weeks’ notice prior to your last lesson. Notice must be given in writing via email to info@auramusicacademy.com (notice cannot be given verbally). This is to minimise wasted lesson slots due to students not informing their tutor of their leaving. Please note that there will be no refunds from monthly Direct Debit payments, so if you leave half-way through the month you will not be refunded any lessons for that month.
Registration Form
Every student (over 18 years old) or parent/guardian will be required to complete and sign a registration form before your first lesson.
Collecting your child/children
At Aura Music Academy, your child’s safety is of our upmost interest. However, your tutor and our staff cannot take responsibility for children once the lesson is finished. Please make sure you arrive promptly to collect your child/children once the lesson has ended. Children under the age of 11 years must be collected by a parent/guardian and cannot leave the studios alone (unless written permission has been given). You are welcome to use our waiting area while the lesson takes place if you wish.
